Journalist Tarek Fatah Passes Away.

Pakistani-Canadian journalist and queer rights advocate Tarek Fatah passed away on Monday at the age of 73 due to cancer. Fatah was known for his criticisms of Islamic extremism and the Pakistani establishment. Tributes poured in on social media for his courage, conviction, and significant contributions to the media and literary world. Fatah was a biochemistry graduate from the University of Karachi and shifted his career to journalism. He was charged with sedition by the Zia-ul Haq government and migrated to Saudi Arabia before finally settling in Canada in 1987. Fatah authored two books, Chasing a Mirage and The Jew is not my enemy, and courted controversy over disinformation on Twitter.
