Prime Minister Narendra Modi directed officials to prepare contingency evacuation plans for 3,000 Indian citizens stuck in Sudan amidst the deadly fighting between the country's army and paramilitary groups. Other countries such as the US, UK, Germany, Spain, Japan, and South Korea are also moving in to evacuate their citizens. During the high-level meeting, Modi received a first-hand report on the safety of Indian citizens in Sudan and instructed officials to remain vigilant and monitor developments closely. India strongly supports efforts towards an early ceasefire and safe corridors, and is working closely with the UN and other partners.
