Priests from Tamil Nadu's adheenams presented flowers to 'Sengol' as PM Modi inaugurated the new Parliament building. Modi installed the sacred 'Sengol' in the Lok Sabha chamber, next to the Speaker's chair, after performing puja. The 'Sengol' was handed over by high priests of various adheenams before its placement. It was previously accepted by Jawaharlal Nehru in 1947. Modi, dressed traditionally, entered the Parliament premises and was greeted by Om Birla. With Vedic chants, Modi performed "Ganapati Homam" for blessings. He carried the "Sengol" in a procession and installed it on the right side of the Speaker's chair. Ministers, chief ministers, and BJP president were present, and Modi honored workers involved in the building's construction.
