Writer's picture: WORLD IN PRINTWORLD IN PRINT

US officials confirm that the Taliban has killed the leader of the Islamic State group who carried out the deadly Kabul airport bombing in April. The identity of the deceased leader has not yet been released. Families of the 13 US service members killed in the attack have been notified, although they have expressed frustration with the limited information provided by the military. The Afghanistan-based Islamic State offshoot with up to 4,000 members is considered the Taliban’s top military threat. The Taliban carried out a series of operations against the group, leading to the leader's death.
